アメリカ人コンセプチュアルアーティスト、ローレンス・ウェイナー（Lawrence Weiner）のポスター。2024年3月から8月まで「バンクーバー美術館（Vancouver Art Gallery）」で開催された展覧会に伴い制作された。
本展は、作者のキャリア初期において重要な位置を占めるようになったポスター作品の意義を示す大規模回顧展であった。自らデザインを手がけ、時には自身が考案したフォントを取り入れたポスターは、私たちが日常生活で目にする視覚的要素を用いて、公の場で言葉を提示するというアプローチに当てはまる、明快で説得力のある一例となっている。
本展は、1965年から2021年にかけて制作された250点のポスターで構成されており、文化のなかで作者の作品が多様な形で広まってきたことを示すものとして、エディション作品、書籍、オーディオ作品、エフェメラの選定によって補完されている。

Designed and made for the exhibition Of and About Posters. This major exhibition consists of how posters became an important aspect of Weiner’s practice early in his career. Self-designed, sometimes incorporating a font Weiner invented, they are cogent examples of his approach to writing in public using visual elements we encounter in everyday life.
Of & About Posters consists of 250 posters made between 1965 and 2021, and will be complemented by a selection of Weiner’s editions, books, audio works and ephemera that attest to the various ways in which his work has circulated in cultures at large.
