アメリカ人アーティスト、ソル・ルウィット（Sol LeWitt）の作品集。「Multiples, Inc.」から出版されたものとしては作者初の「アーティストブック」となる。それまで、作者は「Multiples, Inc.」の創立メンバーのであるマリアン・グッドマン（Marian Goodman）のギャラリーから多くの版画作品やポートフォリオを制作してきたが、本書は作者のマルチプル作品第1作目となる。本作は、1977年に同タイトルのシルクスクリーン印刷で制作されたプリント作品を書籍の形で複製したものであり、タイトルに記載されている要素を用いて作品が構成された。そのうち、78点を抜粋し、本書に収録している。
「Multiples, Inc.」は、現在ギャラリストとして「Marian Goodman Gallery」を営むマリアン・グッドマンを含む5人により、1965年に設立された。1966年から1992年に解散する30年近くもの間、20世紀で最も重要なアーティストたちのエディションを出版し、アート界に大きな影響を与え続けてきた。

First edition of LeWitt’s first artist’s book published with Marian Goodman’s Multiples, Inc. Up to this point the artist had produced a number of prints and portfolios through Goodman, but this was the first “multiple” made in book form. This work consists of 78 combinations of the components listed in the title.
