アメリカ人アーティスト、ブルース・ナウマン（Bruce Nauman）の作品集。アメリカのマルチメディアにおける先駆者であり、多大な影響力を持つ作者の新たな空間的、建築的な作品を紹介している。2022年9月から2023年2月にかけてミラノの現代美術館「ピレリ・ハンガービコッカ（Pirelli HangarBicocca）」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行されたこのモノグラフは、本書の刊行当時において、ニューメキシコでの空間的、建築的作品の最も新しい編纂である。ネオンライト、通路や部屋を用いたインスタレーションを通じ、作者は空間における視覚的かつ身体的経験の対比を強調している。ネオンの光に溢れた狭い通路や、からっぽの部屋を進むという美的体験は、観る者の経験の中にある美術的「オブジェクト」に取って代わり、知覚そのものが作家の作品の主題と解釈することもできる。本書籍はキュレーターのジョアン・サイモン（Joan Simon）、コンサバター（保存修復師）のフランチェスカ・エズメイ（Francesca Esmay）、 現代美術史家のグロリア・サットン（Gloria Sutton）をはじめとした学者、コンサバターやキュレーターたちによる作者の概念的構想や形式の変動に対する新しいエッセイと、展覧会のキュレーターによるテキストが収録されている。さらに本書では展覧会の豊富な記録写真とともに、国際団体の研究者たちによって書き下ろされた30点の展示作品へのキャプション記載や解説も取り上げている。

Published on the occasion of the exhibition at Pirelli HangarBicocca, the monograph presents the most recent studies on Nauman's spatial and architectural research, deepening the aspects related to the corridors, rooms and neon works. Analyzing the conceptual developments, formal variations and incessant experimentation of the artist on this body of work, the catalog includes commissioned contributions from researchers, conservators and art historians such as Francesca Esmay, Joan Simon and Gloria Sutton. Together with a text by the curators on the specificity of the exhibition project - which collects this group of works in its entirety for the first time -, the volume also includes detailed files on the thirty works presented, which contain a selection of images and archival documents, compiled by curators, scholars and critics from international institutions. In addition to unpublished iconographic apparatuses showing the historical iterations of the works in various exhibition contexts, the publication is enriched by extensive photographic documentation of the works, brought together for the first time in a single space for the occasion in Pirelli
