スイスの高級リゾート地、サンモリッツに毎年1人のアーティストを迎え、滞在制作した作品を元に作品集を発表する年刊式プロジェクト『SOUVENIR』。第2号は、アメリカ人アーティスト、ロー・エスリッジ（Roe Ethridge）。

「ジャンニ（SOUVENIR ディレクター）にこのプロジェクトを依頼された時、写真やインスタグラムそして特に（第1号でフィーチャーされた）ロドランドの『SOUVENIR』でしか見たことのない場所を実際に見ることにすごくワクワクした。スイスには行ったことがあったし、仕事でアルプスにある村にさえ行ったことがあったのに、サンモリッツには一度も行ったことがなかった。贅沢な時間と贅沢な発見が私のガイドになるだろうと思ったし、今までの他の仕事とは異なると考えていた。朝はスノーボードに行き、お昼に何枚か有名人の写真を撮り、夜には豪華な夕食を食べてから写真を編集してレイアウトのアイディアを考え始めるなんて想像をしていた。しかし、サンモリッツへの旅が近づくにつれてその場所の根底にある構造について考え続けていた。この高級リゾート地のサービスや施設 – いろいろな意味で、どうして、故郷のニューヨークで警察署や消防署を撮影しているように、自分もサービス業者であるにも関わらず贅沢なサービスを受けるなんて。サンモリッツにも消防署や警察署があるよね？そこで写真を撮ってもいい？」－ロー・エスリッジ

SOUVENIR is a yearly publication showcasing one artist’s take on St. Moritz. Second out is Ethridge. The second edition of the exclusive photo book "Souvenir St. Moritz" inspires with moments captured by the postmodern advertising and art photographer Roe Ethridge, which were taken during his stay in St. Moritz. The art photo book "Souvenir St. Moritz" is an official publication of St. Moritz.

“When Gianni asked me to do the project, I was excited to see this place that I had only accessed through pictures or Instagram- and especially Torbjørn Rødland’s souvenir. I had been to Switzerland before- I’d even been to a village in the Alps on assignment- but never to St. Moritz. I assumed it would be different than other commissions I’d done, where the luxury of time and discovery would be my guide. I figured I would go snowboarding in the morning, take a few pictures of famous people and places in the afternoon, have a fancy dinner and spend the evening going over the edit, starting to formulate an idea for a layout. But as the time grew closer to traveling to St. Moritz, I kept thinking about the underlying structures of the place. The services and institutions of this luxury destination. How, in so many ways, I too am a service worker, just like is to photograph a police station or fire department in my hometown of NYC. I mean, they have a fire department and a police station in St. Moritz, right? Can I take pictures there?” －Roe Ethridge
