MONOGRAM 12: THE DAYS by David Black
ベルギー発の月刊誌『MONOGRAM』の第12号。写真出版の新しいアイデアのプラットフォームとして、2022年に出版社「ART PAPER EDITIONS」を主宰するベルギー人デザイナー、ユルゲン・マエルフェイ（Jurgen Maelfeyt）と「MONOGRAM BOOKS」のアシュリー・ヘルヴィー（Ashley Helvey）によって立ち上げられた。
本号『THE DAYS』では、アメリカ人フォトグラファー、ディレクターであり、「ダフト・パンク（Daft Punk）」、「キャット・パワー（Cat Power）」、「クルアンビン（Khruangbin）」、キム・ゴードン（Kim Gordon）、デヴィッド・リンチ（David Lynch）らとのコラボレーションで知られるデヴィッド・ブラック（David Black）の作品を紹介する。作者の直近の作品が収録されており、継続して取り組んでいる「ウウェスタン・アメリカーナ（Western Americana）」のシリーズをさらに拡げ、エネルギー、具現化、そして避けられぬ形の非永続性についてより流動的な思索を展開する。
ここではフレームが伝達の器となり、物語ではなく感覚、つまり命を吹き込む煌めき、見える身体と見えない身体の間を動く揺らぎを捉える。このイメージ群は、我々自身の身体性を入り口として捉えるよう誘う。その入口では、運きが痕跡となる。再び光の中に溶ける前に、エーテル（空間）の中に留まり、一瞬形を成すのである。
David Black’s latest body of work extends his ongoing exploration of Western Americana into a more fluid meditation on energy, embodiment, and the inevitable impermanence of form. Here, the frame becomes a vessel for transmission, capturing not story but sensation: the spark that animates, the shimmer that moves between bodies, seen and unseen. These images invite us to consider our own physicality as a threshold - where motion becomes trace, and what lingers in the ether briefly takes shape before dissolving again into light.
