2023年5月から8月にかけて「ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）」で約30年ぶりに映像芸術を主題として開催された大規模な展覧会に伴い刊行された作品集。展覧会では同美術館のコレクション作品を取り上げており、新たなコミュニケーションのネットワークや民主的取り組み、一般の参加を生み出すことを望み、あるいは商業ないし国家による情報、ヴィジョンや真実そのものの支配に対抗したアーティストたちがいかに映像作品の未来を守り、問うてきたかに注目する。美術史・哲学・古典を専門とするイナ・ブロム（Ina Blom）、アーティストであり評論家、キュレーターのアリア・ディーン（Aria Dean）、美術史家のデビッド・ジョセリット（David Joselit）とパメラ・M・リー（Pamela M.
