RO-SÉ – A BOOK AS A BRIDGE by Nathalie du Pasquier
イタリアを拠点として活動するフランス人アーティスト、ナタリー・ドゥ・パスキエ（Nathalie du Pasquier）の作品集。2021年3月から6月にかけてイタリアの「ローマ現代美術館（MACRO）」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。本書は、作者の作品、本展の展示風景、そして作者の活動において基盤となる作家や人物によるテキストの抜粋を並置し、展覧会カタログとアーティストブックの間を行き来するような仕上がりとなっている。これは、展覧会の精神を反映した形として、展覧会自体の延長線上にあるものとなる。本書内のページは展示空間となり、作者の作品と創造をより深く理解し、探求することができる。無数の視点からアプローチし、解釈し、体験することができる作者の作品から、その可能性を垣間見ることができる1冊である。
本書は、作者の作品研究の一環であり、「ローマ現代美術館」での展覧会「Campo di Marte」の記録である。作者にとってこれまでで最大の展覧会では、1980年代初頭から現在にかけて制作された絵画、彫刻、ドローイング、版画、小屋作品が100点以上集結した。

Published on the occasion of Nathalie Du Pasquier’s solo show at MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, this book navigates the space between an exhibition catalogue and the artist book with juxtapositions of photographs of Nathalie Du Pasquier’s works, installation views of the show at MACRO, and extracts from texts by various writers and figures fundamental to her practice. These come together to create an extension of the exhibition itself, in a form that channels the spirit of the show: the pages become exhibition spaces embracing associations and combinations allowing for a deeper understanding and exploration of Du Pasquier’s work, and her imagination at large. It is a glimpse into the possibilities offered by her oeuvre, which can be approached, interpreted, and experienced from countless perspectives.
This publication is part of an ongoing study of her work and documents her exhibition at MACRO, “Campo di Marte,” Du Pasquier’s biggest show to date, which brought together over one hundred paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and cabins, from the early 1980s to the present day.
Due to the combination between the paper and the adhesive for binding, the part of the adhesive appears on the cover from the inside. It won't affect viewing and isn't sticky at all.
