1952年に「写真の進化のための相互理解を深める場」として設立された非営利機関「Aperture」によって創刊された、ニューヨークを拠点とする写真雑誌『Aperture Magazine』の第264号。本号は「STOP TIME」をテーマに掲げ、日本人写真家、杉本博司がゲスト編集を務める。光、視覚、そして写真に対する深淵なる問いを探求する、時空を超えた旅へと我々を誘う。

杉本博司が構想にあたった本号は、雑誌そのものを一種のタイムマシンへと変貌させる。アーティストや作家陣を集め、写真の起源、色彩の謎、そして見るということの奇跡について思索する。

杉本博司が虫眼鏡を着用したカバー写真および本特集の撮影はフォトグラファーのダニエル・シェア（Daniel Shea）が担当する。

A time-traveling exploration of light, vision, and photography’s deepest questions, guest edited by Hiroshi Sugimoto.

Conceived by Hiroshi Sugimoto, this issue transforms the magazine into a kind of time machine, bringing together artists and writers to contemplate the origins of photography, the mysteries of color, and the miracle of vision.
