2G 93: STUDIO OTHER SPACES: OLAFUR ELIASSON & SEBASTIAN BEHMANN
スペイン発の建築雑誌「2G Magazine」第93号。本号では、アーティストのオラファー・エリアソン（Olafur Eliasson）と建築家のセバスチャン・ベーマン（Sebastian Behmann）によって2014年にベルリンで設立された建築事務所「スタジオ・アザー・スペース（Studio Other Spaces / SOS）」を特集。本書は、同事務所にとって初の作品集となる。
「スタジオ・アザー・スペース」は、公共空間における学際的かつ実験的な建築プロジェクトや芸術作品を通して建築と芸術を結びつけている。彼らは各プロジェクトを、トピック、場所、そして人と空間との間に生じる複雑な関係の内側に深く入り込むための手段や道具として活用している。
主な作品には、アイスランドの首都レイキャビクに建つ「ハルパ・レイキャヴィク・コンサートホール＆会議センター（Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavik）」の結晶構造で作られたファサード（「ヘニング・ラーセン・アーキテクツ（Henning Larsen Architects）」との共同設計）、デンマークの「アロス・オーフス美術館（ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum）」の屋上に建てられた虹色の回廊「Your rainbow panorama」、近年の作品だとエチオピアの首都アジスアベバの「メレス・ゼナウィ記念公園（Meles Zenawi Memorial Park）」、カリフォルニア州ソノマのワイナリーである「ドナム・エステート（Donum Estate）」がワインの試飲のための空間としてオープンした「バーティカル・パノラマ・パビリオン（Vertical Panorama Pavilion）」、デンマーク・コペンハーゲンの運河に建造した「円形の橋」の意を持つ「サークル・ブリッジ（Cirkelbroen / Circle Bridge）」などが挙げられる。
The first monograph on the SOS studio founded by Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann presents some of their joint works as well as architectural works by Studio Olafur Eliasson.
Studio Other Spaces (SOS) connects architecture and art through interdisciplinary and experimental building projects and artworks for public space. They use each project as a vehicle and tool to dive into topics, into locations, and into the intricate relationships between people and spaces. Featured works include the façades of the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavik (Iceland, in collaboration with Henning Larsen Architects), the famous installation "Your rainbow panorama" at the Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark, as well as recent joint works such as the Meles Zenawi Memorial Park in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia), the Vertical Panorama Pavilion in Sonoma (California) and the Cirkelbroen in Copenhagen.
