イタリアを拠点として活動する建築家、フランチェスカ・トルソ（Francesca Torzo）の講義とその生徒たちの記録をまとめた作品集。2015年、マールテン・ヴァン・セーヴェレン財団とヘント芸術大学（KASK）デザイン学科は、ベルギー人家具デザイナーのマールテン・ヴァン・セーヴェレン（Maarten Van Severen）の作品の関連性と意義を今日のデザイナーに伝えるための講座を設けることを決定した。それ以降毎年マールテン・ヴァン・セーヴェレンの作品に共感する一流のデザイナーが講義とマスタークラスを開催している。講師は、自分の作品とマールテン・ヴァン・セーヴェレンの作品との共通点や、現在のデザイン文化の観点から彼の作品の特徴について考察する。MVSCシリーズ第一弾の講師はフランス人デザイナー、エルワン・ブルレック（Erwan Bouroullec）であった。2019年12月に開催されたMVSCシリーズ第4弾では、フランチェスカ・トルソ（Francesca Torzo）の公開講義と学生向けのワークショップの成果を紹介する。

In 2015 The Maarten Van Severen Foundation and the Department of Design of KASK / School of Arts Ghent decided to establish a chair with the aim of conveying the relevance and significance of Maarten Van Severen’s work for today’s designers. Every year a leading designer, whose work has an affinity with the work of Maarten Van Severen, will give a lecture and a masterclass. He or she will reflect on the common ground between their work and that of Maarten van Severen and on the qualities of his work in light of the current design culture. The first editions were in the hands of Erwan Bouroullec, Alfredo Häberli and Aldo Bakker. Francesca Torzo was the chair holder for edition 2019. She gave a public lecture and a workshop for students, of which the results can be seen in the fourth MVS Cahier.
