ポーランド人インスタレーションアーティスト、モニカ・ソスノウスカ（Monika Sosnowska）の作品集。2014年にニューヨークの「Hauser & Wirth」での展覧会に伴い刊行された。モダニズムを代表する建築家ミース・ファン・デル・ローエ（Mies van der Rohe）の設計からインスピレーションを得た作者は、複製された鉄製のフレームをねじり、110フィート(約33.6m)もの大きさで横たわる像のような、構造工学を凌駕する叙情的な彫刻的オブジェを作り出した。本書ではアイデアの発端から、作者の母国であるワルシャワでの制作の過程を経て、ニューヨークでの最終的な設置に至るまでのプロセスを追っている。

Released following Monika Sosnowska’s exhibition at Hauser & Wirth New York’s 18th Street location in late 2014, this publication features the artist’s monumental work, Tower. Taking inspiration from designs by the iconic modernist architect Mies van der Rohe, Sosnowska begins with a reproduction frame and twists it out of shape to create a sort of 110-foot reclining figure, a lyrical sculptural object that usurps perfect structural engineering. The publication follows the sculptor’s process from initial idea, through the intermediate steps of fabrication in her native Warsaw, and to the final installation in New York.
