アメリカ人映画監督、脚本家、プロデューサー、アリ・アスター（Ari Aster）の作品集。ニューヨークを拠点とする独立系映画製作・配給会社「A24」より刊行された『Screenplay Collection』シリーズの第4弾。本書は、2018年に公開された映画『ヘレディタリー/継承（原題：Hereditary）』の脚本を収録した一冊。（日本での公開は2018年）

本書は、映画『パラサイト 半地下の家族（英題：Parasite / 原題：기생충、寄生蟲）』でアカデミー賞を受賞した韓国人映画監督、脚本家であるポン・ジュノ（Bong Joon-ho）が書き下ろした序文、作家レスリー・ジェイミソン（Leslie Jameson）によるエッセイ、そして作者が本作に登場するグラハム家の降霊会シーンで使用した、綿密にカメラの配置や照明の方向などを構成したショットリストを収録している。

『Screenplay Collection』は、バリー・ジェンキンス（Barry Jenkins）からグレタ・ガーウィグ（Greta Gerwig）まで、A24の最も愛される監督たちの独自のビジョンととどまるところを知らない芸術性を称えるシリーズ。各タイトルには、映画の脚本、オリジナルエッセイ、監督が選んだ24フレーム、舞台裏シーン、独占の特典コンテンツなどが収録されている。
