フランス人アーティストのトマス・フジュロル（Thomas Fougeirol）とアメリカ人アーティストのジョーイ・タン（Jo-ey Tang）による作品集。2013年から2018年にかけて共同で設立・運営した写真アーカイブ「DUST: The Plates of the Present」。2人はパリ近郊のイヴリー＝シュル＝セーヌに仮の暗室を作り、8点のフォトグラムからなるシリーズを制作するよう136人のアーティストに呼びかけた。感光紙に光を当てて作るフォトグラムを使うことで、写真の黎明期と20世紀の前衛的な実験へのオマージュとなっているこのプロジェクトは、オーサーシップとは何かを遊び心を持って問いかけつつ、リソースの共用や既存のものとは別の共同体の在り方を前提にした、現代の美術界の主流とは異なる芸術のかたちを提案している。2人は2019年に「DUST: The Plates of the Present」所蔵の全作品をパリの国立近代美術館に寄贈した。

DUST: The Plates of the Present is a collective photo archive set up by French painter Thomas Fougeirol and American artist Jo-ey Tang that ran between 2013 and 2018. The two invited 136 artists to an improvised darkroom in Ivry-sur-Seine near Paris, where they were asked to produce a series of eight photograms. The photogram is an imprint of light on photosensitive paper. The project—a homage to the early days of photography and the avant-garde experiments of the twentieth century—presented an alternative to the mainstream forms of the contemporary art world based on the shared use of resources, a playful questioning of the idea of authorship, and the premise of an alternative mode of collectivity. In 2019 Fougeirol and Tang donated the entire DUST archive to the Musée national d’art moderne in Paris.
