ガーナ人アーティスト、クワメ・アコト（Kwame Akoto）の作品集。2026年3月から9月にかけてパリの「ケ・ブランリー＝ジャック・シラク美術館（Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac）」内の「アトリエ・マルティーヌ・オーブレ（Atelier Martine Aublet）」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。

作者は、本書のタイトルに用いられている「全能の神（Almighty God）」の名で知られ、1970年代初頭から看板絵師としての活動と並行して絵画制作を展開してきた。この膨大な作品群は、スピリチュアルなメッセージ、自画像や著名人の肖像、そして作者の拠点であるアシャンティ州の州都クマシにおける日常の情景を組み合わせたものである。タイポグラフィの巧みな扱いと、言語およびイメージに対する精緻な感覚を通じて、「全能なる」神への感謝、とりわけ人間、自然、食といった恵みを表現すると同時に、魔術や異教、さらには最大の公共の敵とみなされる煙草のような悪魔的誘惑に対して警鐘を鳴らす。

Ghanaian artist and preacher Kwame Akoto, better known as Almighty God, has developed a pictorial practice alongside his occupation as a sign painter since the early 1970s. This prolific body of work combines spiritual messages, self-portraits, portraits of celebrities, and scenes of everyday life in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, where he is based. With a masterful command of typography and a precise sense of language and imagery, the artist gives thanks to ‘Almighty’ God for his blessings—particularly humanity, nature, and food—and preaches against demonic temptations such as witchcraft, paganism, and even cigarettes, deemed public enemy number one.
