Rosie Marks (b. London, 1993) documents idle subjects as they focus on their day-to-day lives. Her subjects are engrossed in their worlds, her fascination with them usually left unrequited.

Marks’ voyeuristic eye allows for the absence of sentimentality, giving her the ability to capture the oddities amid human behaviour. Much of Marks’ work takes place in scenarios where people are their most free - teenagers at prom, couples on holiday or groups in Miami during Art Basel - are caught with such matter-of-fact that humour and humility occur at once, asserting or debunking assumptions of their idiosyncratic existences.

This year Marks published her first book ‘08.14-10.19’, featuring 526 images taken over a five-year period between August 2014 and May 2019. Marks lives and works in London.
