LE TEMPS RETROUVÉ CY TWOMBLY PHOTOGRAPHE ET ARTISTES INVITÉS by Cy Twombly

21世紀を代表するヴァージニア州生まれのアメリカ人アーティスト、サイ・トゥオンブリー（Cy Twombly）の作品集。本書は、パリのアートシーンを牽引してきたギャラリスト、イヴォン・ランベール（Yvon Lambert）が、フランス南部アヴィニョンに構える私設美術館「Collection Lambert」で企画し、作者にとっては生前最後の開催となった展覧会「Le temps retrouvé. Cy Twombly photographe et artistes invités」の図録。本展覧会は、美術館側からのオファーにより実現した作者の写真作品による回顧展に加え、作者がキュレーションを手がけた別のアーティストの写真展も同時に展開されるという二部構成となり、初めて作者自身の個人的なテイストや興味、関心を反映した展覧会として、作者の作品を新たな考察で読み解くことができる貴重な機会となった。展示されていた作家は、19世紀から20世紀に名を馳せた巨匠の面々が揃い、例えばオーギュスト・ロダン（Auguste Rodin）やピエール・ボナール（Pierre Bonnard）、コンスタンティン・ブランクーシ（Constantin Brancusi）、ジャック＝アンリ・ラルティーグ（Jacques Henri Lartigue）、杉本博司、ダイアン・アーバス（Diane Arbus）、ソル・ルウィット（Sol Lewitt）, エド・ルシェー（Ed Ruscha）, シンディ・シャーマン（Cindy Sherman）、そしてサイ・トゥオンブリーの親友であり故郷のヴァージニアに住むサリー・マン（Sally Mann）らの作品を見ることができた。作品集も同じく2冊組で構成され、展示作品とともに、「Collection Lambert」のディレクター、エリック・メジル（Éric Mézil）や美術史家であり現在はイギリスのナショナル・ポートレート・ギャラリーのディレクターも務めるニコラス・カリナン（Nicholas Cullinan）、小説家のアンヌ＝マリー・ガラ（Anne-Marie Garat）、同じく小説家であり劇作家のドン・デリーロ（Don DeLillo）らが評論を寄稿。タイトルの「Cy Twombly photographe et artistes invités」は「Cy Twombly photographer and guest artist」を意味する。

Catalogue of the exhibition « Le temps retrouvé. Cy Twombly photographe et artistes invités », held at the Collection Lambert in Avignon in 2011. For this exhibition in 2 parts, the museum offered a retrospective of Cy Twombly’s photographs, as well as an exhibition of other artists’ photographs curated by Cy Twombly himself. This is the first time Twombly offers a view into his personal tastes and interests, and provides a great opportunity for a new reading of his own work. Among the list of selected artists, great masters of the 19th and 20th century such as Auguste Rodin, Pierre Bonnard, Constantin Brancusi, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Diane Arbus, Sol Lewitt, Ed Ruscha, Cindy Sherman, and Sally Mann who was a friend of Twombly. The 2 volumes catalogue showcases the exhibited works along with critical texts by Éric Mézil, Nicholas Cullinan, Anne-Marie Garat and Don DeLillo.
