韓国出身、ドイツと韓国を拠点に活動するアーティスト、ヤン・ヘギュ（Haegue Yang / 양혜규）の作品集。2024年10月から2025年1月にかけてロンドンの「サウスバンク・センター（Southbank Center）」内「ヘイワード・ギャラリー（Hayward Gallery）」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。

紙のコラージュからパフォーマティブな彫刻、巨大な感覚的インスタレーションまで、作者の表現は幅広いメディアに及ぶ。様々な工芸品、技術、素材を作品に取り入れ、それらが文化的に持つ意味を利用する。乾燥ラック、電球、金属メッキの鈴、ナイロンのポンポン、手編み用の毛糸、韓国の手漉き紙である韓紙（ハンジ）など、日用品や工業製品をモチーフにし、遊び心あふれる作品を制作している。

本書は、2000年代初頭から展示会期の直近に至るまでに制作された作品を包括的に紹介する。作者の作品がいかに個人的かつ感覚的なレベルで共鳴しながらも、社会的、政治的、精神的な考えにも通じているのか、随所において示唆している。

Haegue Yang’s work spans a vast range of media – from paper collage to performative sculpture and immense sensorial installations. Using a variety of crafts, techniques and materials in her work, she taps into the cultural connotations they carry. Yang playfully creates her pieces, featuring household and industrial objects, including drying racks, light bulbs, metal-plated bells, nylon pom-poms, hand-knitted yarn and hanji (Korean paper).

This catalogue accompanies the exhibition held at the Hayward Gallery in London between 9 October 2024 and 5 January 2025, presenting a comprehensive study of Yang’s work from the early 2000s to today, demonstrating throughout how her artworks both resonate on a personal and sensory level while also speaking to social, political and spiritual ideas.
