ロサンゼルスを拠点に活動するイギリス人アーティスト、ニック・レルフ（Nick Relph）の作品集。本書は、過去10年間にニューヨーク中の建築現場の広告からポータブル・ワンドスキャナーを用いて密かに収集されたスキャンデータを収録。古い都市に代わる新しい都市の非公式かつ緊急性の高いインデックスのような一作に仕上がっている。

本作は、極限まで高くされた解像度が、スキャンプロセスの携帯性や、建築レンダリングで演出された人工光と空間の不気味な非現実性と突き合わせられている。その結果、世界中の都市におけるディストピアの現在を示す不吉な辞典を作り出しているのである。これは、きっと未来の廃墟を物語る、不思議なオブジェなのであろう。

Amounting to a sort of unofficial and urgent index of a new city quickly replacing an old one, the book is a collection of scans made over the past decade, using a library wand scanner, clandestinely collected from building sites' public postings, all over New York City.

Extreme high resolution butts up against the handheld nature of the scanning process, and the uncanny irreality of manufactured light and space of the construction renderings, to create an ominous dictionary of the dystopian present of urban cities around the world. A mysterious object, testifying to what will surely be our future ruins.
