ベルリンを拠点に活動するスウェーデン人アーティスト、ロビン・ワトキンス（Robin Watkins）と息子であるオットー・カネル・ワトキンス（Otto Canell Watkins）による作品集。

本書は、オットー・カネル（2012年生まれ、10歳）とロビン・ワトキンス（1980年生まれ、42歳）のコラボレーション作品である。蟻とその生息地にまつわる本であるが、もしかするとそれ以上に人間とその習性を取り上げているかもしれない。ヨーロッパ大陸における様々な幅広い要素に、流動的な年齢層からの声を与える。例えば、動物、ビニール袋、ホームレスであること、藻類、ガム、おまじない、お金、穴、蟻蟻が生活する巣（コロニー）、空想上の存在、木の根、レモネード、政治、そして​​分解されてフワフワになった国旗。

制作に要した8年間で世界は変化し続け、テーマは成長し、視点は変わり、人生と同様に本書は無秩序な形をなした。寓意的でありながら、意味の分からないこともあり、遊びを本質的な原動力としている。304ページにわたって寓話のようなごちゃ混ぜが繰り広げられる本書は、たくさんの砂糖に少し助けられながら、社会を超えた共同体を反映しようと試みている。

Eusociality in the EU is a book about ants and their habitats, or perhaps more so about humans and their habits, which lends an age-fluid voice to various contents of the European continent: animals, plastic bags, homelessness, algae, chewing gum, hocus-pocus, money, holes, ant colonies, fantasy beings, tree roots, lemonade, politics and flag-fluff. As the world transformed during the eight years it took to complete, subjects grew and angles changed, and the book took on a form as disorderly as life itself. Part allegory, part nonsense, and using play as an essential driver, this fable-esque jumble spanning 304 pages attempts to reflect community beyond society—with a little help from a lot of sugar.
