作者は、その存在意義がしばしば意識されることのない、雑然とした隙間に置かれた植物の配置に、穏やかなアイロニーをもって視線を向けている。サンセベリアやサボテン、多肉植物などの簡素な植物は、特別な演出もなく、現代的なオフィス環境の中に備品のように収まっている。これらの空間を支配する基本的な秩序は、合理性に基づくものである。

そうした環境の中で、主に私的な存在であるグリーン植物は、机や棚の上へと広がり、角や通路を占め、空間を分断しながらも同時に結びつけている。切り取られた視点や奥行きのある眺め、色褪せた痕跡として、あるいは広がりのある身振りとして、作者はオフィス植物の射程をなぞり、その多くが周縁的な存在にとどまっていることを静かに明らかにしていく。

Saskia Groneberg takes a tenderly ironic look at plant arrangements whose often unrecognized purpose lies in disorganized interstices. Without much fuss, sansevieria, cacti, succulents, and other sparse plants nestle as inventory in modern office environments. The primary order of these spaces is rational. Thus, the mostly private greenery grows and sprawls across desks and shelves, occupying corners and aisles, dividing spaces and connecting them. With cutaways and vistas, as a faded trace or in expansive gesture, Saskia Groneberg circles the radius of the office plant and reveals its mostly peripheral status.
