イタリア人ファッションフォトグラファー、ダヴィデ・ソレンティ（Davide Sorrenti）の作品集。1995年から1997年の間にかけて撮影されたファッション・フォトグラフィーを収録した一冊。作者の母親、フランチェスカ・ソレンティ（Francesca Sorrenti）が編集とデザインを手がけて「IDEA」から刊行された。既に絶版となっている『ArgueSKE 1994-1997』（2019）、『Polaroids』（2020）に続く同出版社から3冊目の作品集となる。

本書は、ファッション界における作者のずば抜けて魅力的な作品群をまとめたモノグラフである。『ArgueSKE』や『See Know Evil』で見られるようなお馴染みのドキュメンタリー形式のイメージと少し重なる部分もあるが、本作のほとんどが今まで語られてこなかった、もしくは人目に触れてこなかったストーリーである。

兄のマリオ・ソレンティ（Mario Sorrenti）がそうであったように、作者は古典的なファッション・フォトグラフィーの美学の中で仕事をすることができた。本書には、90年代の感性で撮影されたものであるにも関わらず、今見ても驚くほど美しくエレガントなイメージが詰まっている。一方で、非常に多くの写真、とりわけメンズストーリーも撮影されており、それはまるでストリートから一歩も離れていないようでもあった。似つかわしくないモデルが、自身の服ではないにしても、自分のものであるかのように着ている。本書は作者の写真で埋め尽くされている他、雑誌の切り抜きや自身のノートも掲載されている。

MY BEUTYFULL LYFE is a major monograph of some extraordinary work in fashion. There is a slight overlap with some imagery now familiar from ArgueSKE and the See Know Evil documentary but, for the most part, this is an untold, unseen story. The dedication on the first page reads...

Like his elder brother Mario, Davide could work within classic fashion photography aesthetics. The book is full of amazingly beautiful, elegant imagery — albeit with a nineties sensibility.

But he also shot many pictures— particularly menswear stories—that were, like, not even one step removed from the street. Unlikely models in clothes that, even if not their own, might as well have been.
