ドイツ人アーティスト、ハンネ・ダルボーフェン（Hanne Darboven）の作品集。2015年から2016年にかけてミュンヘンの「ハウス・デア・クンスト（Haus der Kunst）」とボンの「ドイツ連邦共和国美術展示館（Bundeskunsthalle）」で開催された大規模な回顧展に伴い刊行された。本書は、コンセプチュアル・アートにおいて最も重要な人物の一人である作者の洗練された作品群を初めて包括的にまとめた1冊である。編集は、ナイジェリア人の美術批評家、キュレーターのオクウィ・エンヴェゾー（Okwui Enwezor）とドイツ人キュレーターのレイン・ウルフス（Rein Wolfs）が手掛ける。

本書は、50年以上にわたる作者の多作な活動のあらゆる段階から見返し、主要作品をまとめたものである。政治的な出来事やドイツの歴史、個人的な文脈に焦点を当てた作品や、文化史、音楽、文学、（自然）科学などのテーマを探求した幅広い作品シリーズが収録されており、作者の傑出した多くの作品群を経時的かつ様式的に取り上げている。

本書には、数字計算を用いた連作が収録されているほか、ハンブルグにある作者のスタジオの一部が紹介されている。例えば、展示空間で再現されている作者のデスクからは、作者の制作に対する体系的なアプローチを垣間見ることができる。事典的アーカイブのような「音楽室（music room）」では、初めて作者の知的宇宙や、編集、作曲、記譜の実践を伺うことができる。

This book presents the first comprehensive monograph of Hanne Darboven's sophisticated oeuvre. Hanne Darboven (1941-2009) is one of the twentieth century's most extraordinary international artists.

This major publication brings together key works from all phases of her prolific career spanning over fifty years. It highlights the outstanding and wide-ranging output of this key conceptual artist in its entire temporal and stylistic breadth, featuring works in which the artist focuses on political events, German history and her personal context and shows the extensive work series exploring themes from cultural history, music, literature, and (natural) science.

Beside the serial calculations on paper the book also presents parts of the artist’s studio in Hamburg: The desks, for example, tell us of Darboven´s systematic approach to her work. The so-called music room, a quasi-encyclopedic archive, grants insight for the first time into the intellectual cosmos of the artist and her practice of compilation, composition and notation.
