"Olaf Nicolai presents 80 photographs showing the ground in front of his feet, illuminated by the flash of his camera. Thus, the man who can hardly see in the darkness marks his path with the short flashes of a camera as he makes his way through Death Valley. Each of them illuminates a few centimetres of the ground, a tiny detail of the landscape, whose desert character, the hostility to life of its burning heat and the glaring daylight is well known.
