フランス人コンセプチュアルアーティスト、ダニエル・ビュラン（Daniel Buren）の作品集。2012年にパリの「グラン・パレ（Grand Palais）」で開催された展覧会「モニュメンタ（Monumenta）」に伴い刊行された。本企画は、毎年国際的に著名な現代作家を招き、「グラン・パレ」の中央にある「ル・ネフ（Nef）」（本堂）と呼ばれる高さ35m、13,500平方メートルの空間のために特別に制作した1点の新作で埋め尽くすという、他に類を見ない現代アートイベントである。作者はこの企画で、アンセルム・キーファー（Anselm Kiefer）、リチャード・セラ（Richard Serra）、クリスチャン・ボルタンスキー（Christian Boltanski）、アニッシュ・カプーア（Anish Kapoor）らの後を継いでいることとなる。

本書は、設計図、ドローイング、コラージュを含む本企画の発展を記録した未発表のスケッチを収録しており、この巨大なインスタレーションが完成するまでを追う。このスケッチから、光と色で「グランパレ」を変貌させるという難題に、作者がどのように挑んだかを知ることができる。

On the occasion of Monumenta 2012, Éditions Dilecta published the previously unseen sketches of Daniel Buren. His plans, drawings and collages document the genesis of the project. From the abandoned initial ideas to the final work, we follow the creation of this extraordinary installation.
