アメリカ人アーティスト、ロニ・ホーン（Roni Horn）の作品集。本書は、フィンセント・ファン・ゴッホ財団美術館（Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles）で2015年6月から9月まで開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。財団の芸術監督、本展のキュレーターであり、美術史家、評論家のバイス・クリガー（Bice Curiger）による序文を収録。
「ここでは、同時に開催されている『Roni Horn: Butterfly to Oblivion』と『Van Gogh Drawings: Influences and Innovations』という2つの展覧会の共通点が見られます。ドローイングは、ロニ・ホーンのアーティストとしての活動の根幹をなすものです。切り取っては組み立てるという手法を用いて、『動きやアニメーションは、どのようにして地上に生まれてくるのか？』という疑問について、三次元空間と言語を使用した非日常的な方法で追求しています。」ーバイス・クリガー

“It is here that we find the common ground between the exhibitions Roni Horn: Butterfly to Oblivion and Van Gogh Drawings: Influences and Innovations, which are running side by side. Drawing represents a fundamental strand of Roni’s activity as an artist. With her technique of cutting up and reassembling, she seems to base her research on the question: “How are movement and animation born on a surface?” – research conducted with unusual means and pursued in three-dimensional space and in language.”
