レバノン出身のフォトグラファー、アヴォ・タヴィシアン（Avo Tavitian）の作品集。2026年4月から5月にかけて、東京の書店兼ギャラリーである「POST」で開催された展覧会に伴い刊行された。同展覧会は日本人写真家である森山大道と共同で刊行した作品集『LOS ANGELES X SHINJUKU』をテーマにしている。

本作はロサンゼルスの華やかさの裏側にある、より無骨で粗削りな側面に焦点を当てたシリーズであり、24点のモノクロ写真を収録する。街の至るところに見られる中古タイヤ店や、歩道に設けられた即席の露店で販売される、すでに最盛期を過ぎながらもなお使うことができるタイヤを主題に用いている。多くの人々にとって、こうした「最後の一息」を保つタイヤこそが、日々の移動を支えているのである。

シルクスクリーン印刷のボードで製本された本作の巻末には、ナンバリングが入る。

Our second monograph on the work of Avo Tavitian, Tires of Los Angeles presents 24 black-and-white photographs from the artist’s broader series about the less glamorous and more gritty facets of Los Angeles. This selection of work showcases a sampling of the ubiquitous used-tire shops and sidewalk pop-up stands offering car tires that have seen better days, but that still have some life in them. For many, these last gasp tires are what keep everything moving forward.

Tires of Los Angeles is published on the occasion of Tavitian’s exhibition of photographs and photographic objects at POST, Tokyo in Spring 2026. Printed in duotone on natural art paper, this artist’s book presents 24 photographs printed on matte art paper and bound in silkscreen printed boards. It is limited to 500 numbered copies.
