本書は、『When You Invent The Ship, You Also Invent The Shipwreck, Archive 1993–2022, Vol. 1』（2022）に続く一冊である。

第1巻と同様に、ピーター・ファンク（Peter Funch）が1998年から2024年にかけて撮影したイメージ・アーカイヴから編まれた、視覚的かつ詩的な“意識の流れ”を提示する。初期作から現在の仕事までを架橋し、大衆文化やユース・カルチャー、グローバルな観光という主題を浮かび上がらせつつ、生態学的アンバランスにも目を向ける。

本書では、特に深刻化する気候危機と自然との関係に焦点が当てられている。写真とドキュメンタリーの接点をめぐる思索の場を提供し、気候変動が環境に及ぼす否定しがたい影響を探究する。

書名は、ヘンリー・D・ソロー（Henry D. Thoreau）の『Walden; Or, Life in the Woods』をはじめとする文学作品からの着想に基づく。ファンクはしばしば書籍の題名や引用を自作へと取り入れ、写真作品にいっそう深い意味層と文化的共鳴を与えている。

第1巻は他書の余り用紙をナラヤナ・プレス（Narayana Press）がランダムに選定して印刷されたのに対し、第2巻は薄い新聞用紙を用いて印刷されている。写真記者としてのバックグラウンドを反映させ、広く一般の読者を真摯な文化的議論へと誘う意図による。

Vol. 1, like its predecessor, presents a visual poetic 'stream of consciousness' from Peter Funch’s image archive spanning from 1998 to 2024. It bridges his early and current work, highlighting themes from popular culture, youth culture, and global tourism while addressing ecological imbalances.

Narrowing its focus to the escalating climate crisis and our relationship with nature. It offers a reflective space on the intersection of photography and documentary, exploring the undeniable impact of climate change on our environment.

Drawing inspiration from literary works like Thoreau's Walden; Or, Life in the Woods, Funch often takes titles or quotes from books and makes them his own, adding deeper layers of meaning and cultural resonance to his photographic work.

With Vol. 1 printed on paper stock left from other publications and randomly chosen by Narayana Press. Vol. 2 is printed on thin newspaper stock, reflecting Funch's photojournalist background, aiming to engage the general population in serious cultural discourse.
