1932年からアメリカの「ホイットニー美術館（Whitney Museum）」が主宰で開催している「ホイットニー・ビエンナーレ（Whitney Biennial）」の第81回目となった、2024年の「WHITNEY BIENNIAL 2024: EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING」の図録。初回の開催以来、同ビエンナーレは現代美術の新たな展開を都度描いてきた。文化的、社会的、政治的領域で大きな変革が今まさに起こっている中、本書はこれまで刊行してきた全ての回のカタログと同様に、今日のアメリカにおける芸術に関する貴重な資料としてその役割を果たし続けながら、ビエンナーレという歴史的価値ある慣例に、常に魅力的かつ新たな試みを生み出している。
