Ed Templeton first achieved fame as a professional skateboarder in the 1980s, but is now internationally recognized as a painter, designer and photographer as well. The subject of dozens of books and zines, Templeton creates all of the artwork for his skateboard company Toy Machine.
In his contribution to our One Picture Book series, Templeton takes us along on a 5-day family roadtrip from Pismo Beach to San Francisco via Santa Cruz in March of 2016, photographing in black-and-white and color as “These beings and their myriad trips swirl around you whispering stories impossible to understand in the time weʼve been allotted.” The book comprises 16 reproductions, and features a signed original photograph at the front of each copy.
Ed Templetonʼs work has been widely exhibited in the United States, Europe and Asia, and is included in the permanent collections of such institutions as Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Deurle, Belgium; Museum De Domijnen, Sittard, The Netherlands; Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, California; Sammlung Goetz, Munich, Germany; Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Ghent, Belgium; and The Zabludowicz Collection, London, United Kingdom.

NAZRAELI PRESS' popular One Picture Book series was conceived in 1998 as a way to make original artwork affordable. The series consists of uniformly designed, modestly-sized hardcover books, comprising 16 pages that serve as a “canvas” for the artist to display one cohesive body of work. Each title is limited to 500 numbered copies and includes an original tipped-in photograph, signed on the verso by the artist. The One Picture Book series ended in 2016 with its 100th title and has now moved to a new upgraded One Picture Book Two series.
