旧ユーゴスラビア出身、クロアチアとブルガリアにルーツを持つアメリカ人アーティスト、ナデズダ・ニコロワ（Nadezda Nikolova）の作品集。アメリカの出版社「NAZRAELI PRESS」が手がけるプリント付き作品集シリーズ『ONE PICTURE BOOK TWO』の第33巻。

全100タイトルをもって完結した『ONE PICTURE BOOK』のアップグレード版である本シリーズ『ONE PICTURE BOOK TWO』は、装丁、サイズともにリニューアル。各タイトル500部限定発行、約127x178mm（約5x7インチ）のサイン入りプリントが付属し、前作と同様100タイトルで完結予定。

光、湿板写真（※註1）、切り絵、クリシェ・ヴェール（※註2）、筆を用い、作者はカメラを使わずに多重露光によって暗室で構図を作る。そのイメージは、風景、光と大気現象、自然界で見られる有機的な形状を想起させる。

作者が生む作品は、描写と抽象化の境界を跨ぐ。印画紙に直接光を当てて感光させイメージを作るフォトグラムの即時性からは、無駄なものが排除された視覚的言語が浮かび上がり、ペインティング、コラージュ、グラフィックアート、彫刻との対話の中にそれぞれの存在を感じさせる。その構図は黙想的な静けさから、ダイナミックさや動きまで幅広く、形、人工物の特徴、ジェスチャー、階調の幅を活用することで、そのバランスとリズムを探る。

※註1 別名コロジオンプロセス。ガラス板に塗布したヨウ化銀コロジオン膜が，感光性を失わない湿っている間に撮影するため湿板写真と呼ばれた。

※註2 写真技術の創成期である19世紀に発明された、ガラス板でネガを作り印画紙に焼き付ける技法。写真と版画を結合した技法。

Using light, wet plate collodion chemistry, paper cut-outs, cliché verre, and brushes, Nadezda Nikolova creates camera-less compositions in the darkroom through multiple exposures that allude to landscapes, light and atmospheric phenomena, and organic forms found in nature.

Nikolova’s art straddles the line between representation and abstraction; the pared-down visual vocabulary arises from the immediacy of the photogram, placing it in conversation with painting, collage, graphic arts, and sculpture. The compositions range in mood from contemplative stillness to dynamism and movement, employing shape, artifact, gesture, and tonal range to explore balance and rhythm.

Born in 1978 (former Yugoslavia), Nadezda Nikolova studied 19th century phototrophic printing processes at the University of Kentucky and the George Eastman Museum. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources & Environmental Science and a Master of Policy Analysis & Administration. Her work is exhibited and collected internationally.

Elemental Forms is limited to 500 numbered copies, each including a 4x5 inch original print that has been signed by the artist.

One Picture Book Two: an upgraded, upscaled follow-up to NAZRAELI PRESS' much-loved One Picture Book series of artists’ books. Each title is limited to 500 numbered copies, and includes a removable, signed, original print measuring approximately 5x7 inches. The books are slightly larger than those in the original series, with a fresh design and upgraded materials.
