ロサンゼルスを拠点とするアメリカ人アーティスト、アレックス・プレガー（Alex Prager）の作品集「FACE IN THE CROWD」のパズル。多くの人が集まるシチュエーションの中で、ひとりひとりのモデルのキャンスティングからスタイリング、ヘアメイクに至るまで細かく作家自身がディレクションした “演出写真” で構成されている。群衆の中で際立つ「個人」の存在、同時にその「個人」が交わること無くその群衆を成しているところに見える「孤独感」など、フィクションとノンフィクションの狭間の領域で見る人に様々な感情を引き起こさせる。 

Face in the Crowd is Alex Prager's most ambitious and complex project to date. Featuring large scale photographs of individuals congested in crowds in public spaces such as movie theaters, airport terminals and beaches. Blurring the line between reality and fiction, these engaging and dynamic compositions present psychological portraits of individuals within a larger group, exploring ideas of both private and public revelation and identity. This limited edition puzzle is drawn from one such work, Crowd #4 (New Haven), broken down into 504 pieces.
