Born in Lodano, a small village of two hundred inhabitants south of the Alps, where I spent my childhood and adolescence. Then I started traveling and living away from home, immediately feeling great curiosity in discovering new lands and cultures.

Photography pushed me to move, observe and get closer to people, helping me to discover different points of view and ways of life. I am particularly interested in how people relate, transform and adapt to the territory they inhabit.

I studied photography in Madrid, Spain (EFTI master in documentary photography) and published and exhibited my works internationally (Switzerland, Italy, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay, United States).

Recently I was awarded bronze medal at the Sony World Photography Awards (contemporary issues), finalist in Prix Photoforum Pasquart (Switzerland) and Head On Photo Awards, (Australia) and Phodar Biennal first prize (Bulgaria). In the past I won the Emergentes award from the international festival Encontros da Imagen (Portugal).

After years of various trips and long stays abroad (Great Britain, Spain, Mexico and Central America), today I live again in Ticino, in a stone house at the beginning of the Verzasca Valley.

In 2013 I co-founded Verzasca Foto Festival, for which I m in charge of the artistic direction.

I work as a freelance photographer on personal projects and I am always interested in new collaborations at local and international level.
