アメリカ人映画監督のダーレン・アロノフスキー（Darren Aronofsky）による作品集。ニューヨークを拠点とする独立系映画製作・配給会社「A24」より刊行された『Screenplay Collection』シリーズの第14弾。本書は、2022年に公開された映画『ザ・ホエール（原題：The Whale）』の脚本を収録した一冊。（日本での公開は2023年）

本書は、主人公チャーリー（Charlie）を演じ「第95回アカデミー賞」において主演男優賞を受賞したアメリカ人俳優、ブレンダン・フレイザー（Brendan Fraser）による導入から始まる。映画脚本の完全版、オリジナル舞台劇の台本、スチル写真に加え、作家でありアメリカ文学とクィア理論の研究者、ピーター・コヴィエロ（Peter Coviello）によるエッセイも収録。あわせて本作監督であるダーレン・アロノフスキーと、原作・脚本を手がけた劇作家のサミュエル・D・ハンター（Samuel D. Hunter）による対談も掲載。対談の進行はニューヨークの劇場「Playwrights Horizon」の芸術監督であるアダム・グリーンフィールド（Adam Greenfield）が務めている。

The Whale Screenplay Book opens with an introduction by Brendan Fraser, who won an Oscar for his performance as Charlie, the film’s main character; it also includes the full screenplay, the original script, a selection of fill stills, an essay by author and English professor Peter Coviello, and a conversation between Aronofsky and Hunter, moderated by Playwrights Horizon artistic director Adam Greenfield.
