Shipped in several parts by train, the pavilion was based on Prouvé’s axial portal frame system, patented in 1939, combining lightweight metal components with standardized wooden elements assembled on site. Featuring steel-clad façade panels and windows, the house became one of the first and most significant postwar examples of Jean Prouvé’s vision for lightweight, industrialized and adaptable architecture.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis new publication brings together a wide selection of archival documents and period photographs dedicated to the Carnac Demountable House.
