ドイツを拠点に活動するフォトグラファー、アンネ・シュヴァルベ（Anne Schwalbe）の自費出版作品集。ランドスケープと日常の一瞬一瞬を丁寧に綴った「Blindschleiche und Riesenblatt」(2010)、自宅周辺の草地を何年にも渡り撮り続けた「Wiese」(2011)に続き、本作では鉱物や砂などの有機的なモチーフを中心とした作品を収録。本書は、ドイツ・ベルリン美術館の芸術図書館「Kunstbibliothek」内ブック＆メディアアート・コレクション、ロサンゼルスにあるゲティ研究所内スペシャルコレクションへ収蔵されている。

After “Blindschleiche und Riesenblatt” (2010) and “Wiese” (2011) “Vulkan oder Stein” is Anne Schwalbe's third self-published book. It’s about stones. More or less. – It is also about the sky and the earth, the fire, the river and the sea. “Vulkan oder Stein” is part of the Book and Media Art Collection at Kunstbibliothek Berlin / Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums) and part of the Special Collections at the Getty Research Institute in LA.
